Management Consulting
As a senior executive and consultant
in the health care industry, Marty O'Connell has provided leadership,
direction, management, and coordination in the areas of planning,
operations, strategy, marketing, and business and organizational
development.
He was formerly with the National
Health Care practice of Ernst & Young, and also served on the senior
management teams for Catholic Healthcare Partners, HCA, HealthTrust, and
Quorum-managed hospitals.
Marty brings critical competencies and
a focus on implementation to healthcare organizations: a solid P&L
orientation; strong conceptual and communications skills; solid planning
experience; depth in health care strategy and marketing; and proven
abilities to organize and motivate staff and management teams. He has led a
significant number of major initiatives, including the development and
launch of new services, process reengineering and performance improvement,
business planning, and venture development.
His credentials include a Master's
degree in Health Care Administration and Planning, professional training in
Organizational Change Management and TQM/Statistical Process Control, and
proven experience in project management and group facilitation. He has
written for trade and industry journals and has served on the faculty for
national health care conferences.
Marty has worked with community
hospitals and academic medical centers; investor-owned enterprises and
community organizations; long-term care and home health providers; and
behavioral health and ambulatory care organizations.
